Mood & Anxiety
Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety may present as excessive worry, panic attacks, social anxiety, or persistent physical tension. Chronic stress can dysregulate the nervous system and impair sleep and concentration.
Treatment may include evidence-based medications such as SSRIs or SNRIs alongside psychotherapy-informed strategies rooted in CBT. From a holistic perspective, we also evaluate sleep, caffeine/substance use, trauma history, and stress load. The goal is resilience and nervous system regulation.
Depression
Depression can involve low motivation, fatigue, irritability, brain fog, and loss of interest in meaningful activities.
Treatment may include antidepressant medication, psychotherapy collaboration, behavioral activation, and evaluation of medical contributors such as thyroid function, nutrient deficiencies, or sleep disorders. Medication can create stability; psychotherapy supports lasting change.
OCD
OCD involves intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors that temporarily reduce anxiety but reinforce symptoms long term.
Treatment typically includes higher-dose SSRIs when appropriate and collaboration with therapists trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Medication management, psychoeducation, and sleep stabilization all support recovery.
Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar disorder includes episodes of depression and periods of elevated or unstable mood and energy. Accurate diagnosis is essential because treatment differs from depression.
Mood stabilizers and certain atypical antipsychotics are first-line treatments. Sleep stabilization and circadian rhythm regulation are critical components of long-term mood stability.
